Statehood puts Puerto Rico on the path to high-paying jobs, high-quality education, safe streets, and reliable water and electricity systems - and all the benefits, opportunities, and legal rights that American citizens deserve.

Good Paying Jobs

Becoming a state will create a lot of good paying jobs. Statehood will increase tourism and manufacturing on the island, and ultimately bring the prosperity of the mainland to Puerto Rico.

The good education

Statehood will help our schools. It will create new funding sources, improve the quality of our schools, and give access to successful programs like Teach for America, which brings young teachers to communities in need.

Natural Disaster Recovery

As the storms worsen and the sea level rises caused by global warming, Puerto Rico needs access to the natural disaster recovery resources that the states of the continent receive. Miami and Houston have recovered quickly after the biggest storms, thanks to federal aid, but Puerto Rico is already trying to recover.
